The "Deutsch Lehren Lernen" (DLL) programme focuses on the educational process of teaching. This new education and training programme of the Goethe Institute is aimed specifically at teachers who teach German as a foreign/second language in primary, secondary or adult education, with the aim of contributing to their practical training.
The DLL programme has been developed based on the daily needs and challenges that every teacher faces in the classroom. Common topics such as didactic skills, grammar and vocabulary, phonetics, literature, forms and working methods in the classroom are integrated into a competence-based and practice-oriented training programme. The programme is based on pedagogical action and didactic research. The programme aims to improve the educational process by observing both one's own teaching and that of other colleagues, through reflection and finally by identifying new practices and their implementation. With the help of teaching videos and research-based practical work, teachers can reflect on their own skills, develop them further and put them into practice in their lessons. In addition, the joint training in an international group of participants offers the opportunity to exchange ideas on teaching issues with active and committed colleagues. Each module of the DLL programme is available in printed form with an integrated DVD from Klett-Langenscheidt Publications. However, the programme is also available online and can be accessed interactively on the learning platform of the Goethe Institute. This enables participating teachers to design their further education and training programme flexibly and according to their personal needs. The programme aims to update and expand the knowledge and skills acquired during studies or through teaching experience. With the BASIS programme, which consists of six modules, participants have the opportunity to improve the competences described in the European Profile for Education at the "Basic" level.
