Short history of the Master’s programme
of the Department of German Language and Literature

• The Master’s programme of German Language and Literature was established in 2006 and addressed scientists who wanted to specialize in literature and linguistic science. The programme functioned additionally to their former degrees and was divided into two sections: “German Literary Science” and “Language Science”.
• During the academic year 2014/15 the Master’s programme was reformed, considering current scientific developments in both sections. This reformation was also influenced by the qualifications and needs of the graduate students.
• In 2018, the Master’s programme was revised once more. Since then, it is entitled: “German Philology: Theory - Applications”.
