The Master’s Degree Program of the Department of German Language and Philology aims to provide knowledge of a high scientific standard and to promote the production of original research. The learning objectives of the Master’s Degree Program “German Philology: Theory and Applications” fully respond to the needs of Greek society for well-trained educators (teachers of German as a Foreign Language, PE07 philologists), as well as for scholars with expertise in the fields of literature, the arts, and culture. Graduates are able to develop professional activities in public and private education, as well as to staff organizations and enterprises and institutions that serve culture, and to act as mediators of knowledge and culture between Greece and Germany.
The Master’s Degree Program leads to the award of a Master’s Degree in the specializations “German Literature: Greek–German Relations in Literature, Culture, and the Arts” and “Interfaces of Linguistics and Didactics”, following the full and successful completion of the studies in accordance with the curriculum.
