NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
BIP CIVIS "EUROPE AND THE RULE OF LAW"
The Blended Intensive Program (CIVIS), titled “Europe and the Rule of Law”, was successfully hosted at the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens from the 2nd to the 6th of June 2025. The organization and coordination were undertaken by Assistant Professor Vasiliki Christou, in collaboration with ten academics from eight other universities of the alliance: Aix-Marseille Université with Professor Alexis Blouёt, the University of Bucharest, with Professor Radu Rizoiu, Université libre de Bruxelles, with Professor Erik van den Haute, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, with Professor Susana Alvarez de Neyra Kappler, Sapienza Università di Roma, with Professors Marco Cosentino and Francesco Zarrilli, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, with Professor Bernd Heinrich, the University of Glasgow, with Professor Jim Murdoch, Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg, with Professor Michael Johannes Rainer, and the University of Lausanne, with Professor Damiano Canapa.
The thematic sessions of the Civis BIP addressed the following issues:
- Civil liability in the context of artificial intelligence (AI)
- The rights and obligations of artificial intelligence (AI)
- The relationship between the rule of law and investment law
- The use of biometric data in criminal investigations
- Technology and the dynamics of power
